I dreamt I was working on scientific research into Tsunami’s with a group of Russians.  I am imprisoned over a disagreement.  They killed anyone who fought in self defence. There is a scary dummy at the prison, and a van with equipment.  I feel a strange compulsion, and find a way to escape by following it, and end up on a boat speeding away.

I had some very strange dreams last night. In the first I was with my friends Sam and Sarah (who I’d had tea with last night). We were in an underground car park somewhere, with Sarah’s sister Hannah, and her father Paul. We were out on the coast walking and I see the signs of what proves to be a tsunami. I tell them to run, and we all do, up as high as we can, and end up in a multi story car park built into the side of a mountain. Sarah’s dad slams the metal doors shut, and we head even higher, though we hear the water battle into the building, and can see the water seeping under the door and effectively chasing us slowly. We head higher up metal stairwells and ramps. Sarah’s sister Hannah seems all enthusiastic and energetic, and doesn’t seem to realise the danger that we are all in. eventually we get as high as we can get, and exit the building, only to find we are high on a hill, and can see the other side of what now appears to bean island. It seems we have survived the tsunami. I’m fairly certain I then dreamt it from a different perspective, as there was a storm, and I was on a boat on the water watching the island be over topped by a ginormous wave – only in this dream it was all in cartoon style. I think there was magic involved, but I don’t remember what it was.

The second dream was me and a group of others in a small harbour somewhere, and we are putting boat things in water. They were small radio controlled toy boats that are being put into and pulled out of the water after a short drive around easily carryable. They are black and resemble mini very fast speed boats.

I dreamt I was in a house on a hill in thick clouds or fog, a long way to the nearest neighbours in town.

Then I dream of an airplane that crashes into the sea. I see it from a disembodied point of view – I can zoom in on the cockpit or see the outside of the plane. Anyway, I see the pilots struggling, then get distracted, and then my sight draws back and I can see that the plane does a loop the loop (from very close to the sea surface – it just avoids digging a wing in) and then it stalls and crashes into the sea. I zoom in again as everyone piles out onto float rafts – the plane looks like a van now, and is partly resting on the float rafts. I toe the plane/raft junction. Some people are still inside when it slips off the raft and sinks. Others are also pulled under. Then the wash pulls the float down. For some reason I was playing chess, so when I get back up to the surface, and onto a raft (it’s not difficult to get back onto either) and we get to shore, where a tsunami has hit – that was the wave crest we managed to just barely pass over. Phil R from work is there with his chess set and we go into this really dilapidated shed building. I end up deciding I have to go however as all I have left are a pawn, a knight and two other pieces, where as Phil has many more. Dr Mike is there and they begin to play. I walk home along roads that looked a lot like the Black Bull pub corner and down the road towards Cadley Causeway. I see a woman about halfway down with intelligent ponies – we talk – her about her show while the ponies make their way through to the back of the house on their own. One pony is a bit skittish apparently, the other is very steady and kept them on track at the show they have just gotten back from. The skittish pony was taken to the side by her, and the steady pony got them back on the trail – they were a foot to the wrong side of the post. She praises it as an excellent pony. I talk about lack of riding stables nearby and offer to help if she ever needs it. Then I carry on, and end up on a boat going down the Cleddau. I’m with someone else and am trying to get home, and realise the tsunami will have caused flooding (though the evidence isn’t there – everything looks pristine calm peaceful wooded steep banks). I’m all like ‘shit the tidal bore’ etc. as my dream vision zooms ahead to see what the weir and bridge are going to look like when I reach them. As it happens its not half bad – high clear water but no damage. Then my alarm woke me with a jolt.

Last night I dreamed of a tsunami, two actually, though the second had the distinct feel of there strong waves of the night before. It had a feel of final destination (seeing the event before it happens) in that I saw the tsunami (reminiscent of images of the 2004 boxing day tsunami) before me and my (dream) school friends went to the beach on a nice warm sunny day. There’s some guy going round with scratch cards, and taking photos for the year book etc and I win the top prize, which he announces to the entire beach – I get embarrassed by this. Then we all get into the water. It’s warm and clear (it’s always clear in my dreams) and for a while we swim. We are next to some blocky square/oblong rocks – the sand dipping into the water, and the rocks framing them – the rocks have a flat top like it’s been built that way, though I can ‘see’ that it’s a natural formation and I get my friends to move away from them in case we get knocked against them by the waves. One of my friends, I know is scared of deep water. He’s OK as long as he knows he can put his feet down. A big wave comes, and I see more massing behind it as I am floating at the apex. As the wave sets me down, I wade towards the shore and run for the sand hills (really low dunes with Marram grass deeply rooted). I keep just ahead of the massive waves, dive over the top of the dune and then turn back, grabbing hold of the deeply rooted grasses to hold onto should the wave try and sweep me away. I hope like hell that I won’t get dragged inland and killed if the tsunami waves get too high. And that’s the end of the dream. I know that each successive wave was getting higher up the dune face.

I dreamt about a volcano erupting last night. I was with a group of people, possibly a school group or field trip to some area. It isn’t entirely clear. What I do remember of the dream is that the volcano erupted while we were on the coast – we had been having some sort of a lecture there. We knew that there was a great danger of a tsunami hitting us and must quickly grab only the essentials from the van and head for the hills. I remember picking up important things like food and water but I also took my laptop, which clearly would only be a dead weight to me. Even in the dream I thought this odd, but my dream self though it was necessary. Then we made a direct line for the hills. They were steep ad heavily wooded right up from the very flat coast. I don’t remember more than that.

24/4/10

Last night I managed almost a full 12 hours of sleep I was that knackered.  I did however wake up several times overnight and noted down the dreams I had each time so I wouldn’t forget.  I had about four of them.  The first, as it came to me before midnight, has gone into yesterday’s post, the other three will be posted here, though I have no memory of the last one other than that i did have a fourth dream.

So, for No#1 see yesterday’s post

No#2

This one was slightly weird and did in fact probably follow on directly from the previous dream, mostly because it had the same feel and the same colours, but a different location.  it was however slightly different – in the dream I was male, and there was also another man with me.  We were apparently on a star ship stuck in a bog we were in the front of the saucer section and the crew were all desperately trying to get the ship free.  I have absolutely NO idea what wedid, but suddenly the back end of the ship seems to sink fdown and the saucer section tilt up (alarmingly fast).  Me and my friend head for the very tip of the saucer section and this seems to correct the tilting, though it does wobble wnd tilt a bit mnore as we move around.  things like ‘woah!’ and ‘shit’ may also have been uttered.  We discuss the situation – one of us needs to go back but we darent because of the tilting.  eventually we manage to push all the furniture in the room (another difference to the previous dream – there is a sofa and a lot of boxes in the room we are in – to the tip of the ship and my friend tentatively heads towards the back of the ship – there is no wobbling or tilting of the floor and it seems that whatever we did has loosened the ship enough that we can get free.  then I woke up for the second time and noted down the dream.  My typing and spelling in the dark and half asleep is truly abysmal:
dtar trek ina bog sh

That is the exact wording I used to note down this dream.  Good thing it is generally enough to jog my memory.

The memory jog for dream No#3 is slightly more coherent if a bit odd sounding.

nanny tsunami

So, in this dream you can pretty much tell what is going to happen – a tsunami is going to hit and that nanny will be involved in it (not the cause of it however)

So, I was in Blackpool with nanny.  It was lovely and sunny, and bright (complete contrast to the previous dreams).  I have no idea what we were doing, probably we were just going for a day out together.  We used to do that and she was jsut as she was before she was diagnosed with Alzheimers.  I don’t remember what tipped me off, but suddenly everyone realises that there is a HUGE tsunami coming it (it is like a vertical wall of clear water).  I grab a quad bike from somewhere and nanny gets on too.  I have seen that there are gaps in the tsunami between which I can see sail and mother boats behind it perfectly happy sailing along as if the ytsunami rose out of the water in front of them.  I race the quad bike along the beach to out run the wave and get to a clear spot before it hits (it seems to be coming in very slowly).  For some reason I think it will be quicker to get to on the tram ways and road so I dodge the people (there are a LOT of people) and under the pier (which seems to span the entire length of the beach and out to sea at points) of course I end up getting bogged down by masses of trams (that seem to just whizz by) and cars and yet MORE crowds of people.  They don’t seem to notice that there is a tsunami rolling in either which I thought was a bit odd.  finally I manage to dodge round another tram, back onto the beach and into an area where there is a gap (it is /right/ next to a pier that justs out to sea and I remember thinking it was of dubious safety, buit nanny and I nab a pylon and then we realise there is nothing to lash us to it (because the wave (evewn though we are in an area where there is a gap) will be very powerful and destructive.  I look desperately around for rope, string, anything to tie us to the pylon.  nanny grabs my key fob (it has a carabiner attachment that I clip to my belt loop on my trousers) and clips me onto the pylon.  I see she is going to sacrifice herself for me and I am fierly certain words were spoken, but I don’t remember them.  Just before the wave hits I remember grabbing nanny in a big bear hug, hoping that a) the carabiner (and my belt loop) is strong enough to hold us both and that b) I am strong enough to hold onto nanny.  Then I woke up again before having dream No#4, which I don’t remember anything about.

I am sunbathing on a crescent of white beach. Seven tsunami like waves (one of which tops the cliff/promontory it is so big) flood the beach. The water is clear, the weather is warm and sunny. Many people are washed away. I survive (with a little effort) by wrapping my arms and legs around a wooden pier strut (which feels and looks like a wooden telegraph pole and appears out of nowhere just as the wave does). The pier is also undamaged by the waves.
