I had an odd dream last night.  In it I was either school age or just left and I had a friend, Amanda who had gone somewhere, leaving her boyfriend without a word.  I was close to him throughout her being missing, convincing him to go on a date with a girl called Rachel before she swans back into our lives and picks up where she has left off, only he doesn’t see it like that, and sees me for what I am – caring loving and always there for him.  So he’s two timing her with me – sort of.  She finds out just as we need some entertainment for this really important meeting thing, and I have to ask her,  really difficult as you can imagine.  Send her a not asking her to meet me behind this place in the woods where we went often as kids with our friends. Am going to ask if she’s willing to ‘share’ – not on a sexual level.  I just want the occasional cuddle.  And I wander through the groups of people on break, past that area and over the hill to the marina, where me and others see this old dude pulling his catch of manta rays onto the shore.  We ask him how to cook them, and he shows us.  It’s almost a case of slice, cook, peel eat. And very few bones, very little flesh too – it’s almost all stuck to the ‘big’ ribs.

Ok, this was quite an odd dream, but would with some tweaking make a dammned good story I think. SO my first tag will definitely be plot bunny :D.

It had a post-apocalypse feel to it this dream. Don’t ask me how I knew that, I just do. Anyway there are these effigies of dragons in the sand or created in the sand of a beach by a few powerful magi. I feel that the magi have been subjugated or outlawed by the technicrat society that has recently suffered the ‘apocalypse’ thing. I have no idea if it was caused by the mages, helped by the mages or if it decimated them too. Anyway, these technicrats had something called ‘combined living’ before they found technology and it involved combining with a dragon spirit or something. The lifestyle was all nature oriented, but the technicrats got lazy with all the mod cons to make life useful, and lost their bond to nature. All their culture past and present has all been lost due to this and there are few now that even remember the dragons existed, let alone what they could once do.

There are two teenagers, a brother and sister who DO know about the dragons and their power. They are among the very few who do. With the spectacular fall of the technicrats, they now want to bring them back. There is some kind of prophesy/riddle that they must solve/fulfil to bring the dragons back. This leads the brother to marry a lady of the people who put a stop to the dragons or the winter queen’s doings in the far past. This wife is the summer queen, she is young, beautiful, slender and delicate, but not so delicate as she looks. She is the one who figures out the riddle and how it relates to them all. She realises that she is the summer queen, and her sister in law the winter queen. She comes to learn more of the dragons and the riddle. They both have different takes on it and the winter queen (the sister) fails to go hunting for something based on her view. The summer queen hears the riddle and does the right thing – she goes to the coast, she makes the sand effigy but doesn’t have the blood tie or strength to raise a dragon from the sands. It is she who realises that they need to get something else. The winter queen having seen what she did and also failing to raise a dragon.

Working together at last (there was rivalry between the two ‘queens’ over the brother/husband) the riddle leads them to a deserted technicrat town (it looks a lot like the place the Firefly crew visit – the planet that created the Reavers) There is a large fountain in technicrat areas – it has some sort of symbolism to them as the earth/dragon one has to the subjugated and almost wiped out race that have survived the technicrats. In the fountain they can see an apple – the apple is the key to reviving the dragons. I have no idea how or why though. Probably it has some magical/hallucinogenic/energy thing going on. It looks a lot like a snow white apple with the red and green sides to it.

The fountain in the town is made of two circles, one outer and one inner circle. They are always drained of water in the months of spring by the technicrats for some reason, possibly related to spring thaw and flooding problems (water overflow if a flood gets too bad?)

The riddle related to this part of the dream goes something like:

when the third month loses spring
the path to nature can be seen
apple, circles, sand..

I will have to come up with more to lead them to the town and such and finish it of course, but when they finally realise that the fountain is the ‘spring’ referred to by the technicrats (some kind of in case of emergency go back to nature thing?) they look all over it for some kind of sign. At the top they find a square plate in middle that they lever open -and then they can see a projection of the apple within a room. The appke is holographic, but the room is technicrat and they suspect that it is a room below the fountain they must look for.

Directly across from them is one of the technicrat offices. They enter building of the technictrats and hunt around it. They end up with a small group that have remained, in the technicrat town. There are colouring books, corridoors, a coffee machine dispenser style restaurant and they bump into two brothers. One is an artist and the other is a restauranteur – he makes a special dish ‘But we do without because it’s out of date’ – they aren’t going to eat it – it’s months old and it’s quickly realised that the two are as mad as hatters. The small group also keep getting distracted either purposely or by accident by various things. Finally they enter room with apple – it looks like a lecture theatre with chairs and a projector etc…and retrieve the apple (which is hidden and they need technicrat know how to access it (provided by the mad hatter brothers).

They then make their way to the beach which is really close by (suddenly) outside the technicrat building/town. They try to form the dragon effigy. Nature (waves) is trying to stop them ( no idea why) and they also know that it is is also illegal (by technicrat standards/laws) to try. I saw lots of kids and families on the beach and then the dream ended.

So it was an odd dream, but with definite potential.

I had two dreams last night. It started with me on a hill. I was on a bike going very fast up the hill (it may have been down it and the going up was later) whatever happens I end up really battering the front wheel. I must have hit a pot hole hard because the front wheel buckles badly and the spokes all bend and break or fall out. It is a mangled mess. Then I get off the bike and it turns into this iron monstrosity that has thick cast iron rims – clearly un-rideable. I hitch a lift somewhere and then possibly back up the hill. The dream then shifted and I ended up in Buckingham Palace with princess Diana (who seemed to be a teenager) this bit is definitely related to mum watching ‘The Young Victoria’ last night. I think I was supposed to be a princess in the dream too. We do some stuff, which I also can’t remember (I remember it was interesting) and we possibly also prepare for a ball.
