I had a not very vivid dream.  I was in Pembroke town, house hunting and there were elements of the TV show the legend of Korra – possibly I or one of the companions I usually have present in my dreams had her powers.  I saw cows in a field, from the house I was viewing, and saw photos of it too.  Outside I end up putting a barb through my foot and a farmer has to help and rescue me.  Then the dream shifted and I was in a shop, it was sunny.  Horse carriages were trundling past, and the shop sold food.

Very unusual dream last night. I was on the coast with friends walking along. Some of these friends were Kami from L5R. One of them was definitely Shiba. We head back to a house we have previously been in. Going by bus (Thames Valley red bus to be precise). There are several people talking about the imminent US government shut down and what are they going to do? (even though we were definitely in the UK). I recognise one of the men as going to my work and give him some advice. Then we see the news that the government has actually been shut down a the republicans are refusing to budge. We find an injured man one the way back, Lady Shinjo and Lady Doji want to help him, so we bring him along. We get back to the house we are staying at, (that we entered via the back door through a tiny window in the door the first time we came – don’t ask me why, my brain does weird stuff in dreams). Shinjo has the keys to the front door, but it’s slow to open. Shiba and Bayushi decide to enter the way they did last time – the back door. It takes them some time to squeeze through it’s such a small window, and when they get into the kitchen, Shinjo wheels in a hospital bed with the injured person in it, all tucked in (it was a guy, the face wasn’t really very clear, I’ve no idea who the injured person was), he wasn’t one of the Kami.

The dream shifts slightly then and we are uopstairs in what appears to be my house. There’s a fight or some sort of altercation, and Lady Doji being very gentle etc, is very upset by it, thogh it is eventually broken up – I can’t think by who, possibly Shinjo or Bayushi. Doji goes downstairs and to Shiba, who gives her a big hug and lots of comfort while Doji has a cry into his shoulder.

I had several dream snippets last night, the first being I was riding a cross country course. My horse was fast, but was missing most of the jumps (if it had been real life, I would have been disqualified in minutes). It was an odd ride, the horse went into the water scrambling over the obstacles, in the water (they were pretty much submerged).

Then the dream shifted, and I was in a car with a man, who had a collie on the seat next to him. Mum was in the back. The collie is injured by trying to leave through the open door while the car is in motion. The man stops the car and examines the dog, which has a bloody paw. We bandage it and decide to take him to the vet.

We end up Driving again. I am sitting next to the guy, holding the collie. I am looking forward when I hear a thud. I look right to see no driver. I climb over the gear stick and take over driving the van we are now in. I see him head dragging on the road, he’s done the same thing the dog has accidentally. I help mum to pull him up and in, at speed as I can’t find the breaks, or they aren’t working. He is (probably for the best) unconscious. We strap him to the passenger, and I put a seatbelt on so I don’t do what he did (not that I know how he did what he did. I change direction, and drive up the hill past the doctors to get up onto Blackpool Road in Preston from the docks, planning to take him to the hospital. The car is very difficult to control without breaks. I use the hills incline to slow and stop us, which happens right at the lights of the junction. We look at the layout of the van and see that the seat is in the wrong position to access the breaks properly. It takes a lot of time to adjust the seat to get it right

Not the most vivid of dreams. It was all about a holiday. A teacher is injured and my pet rabbit Wentworth is loose. We were in the mountains, there was a chalet, my friends, food and, randomly, a vending machine.

Weird dream last night.  I was in some sort of town hall, there were lots of towns folk and a regiment had come to stay.  It has a very pride and prejudice feel to it.  They were inside and had just fought a hard battle.  We had won. I think I wander out to the entrance where there’s this French dude talking to, I think, the mayor of the town.  He apparently sold out someone/something and it allowed us to have the victory.  He’s being paid.  The towns people are happy, the soldiers aren’t.  Two come up on him as he’s being congratulated.  This doesn’t go down all that well and they attack him.  They are pulled off and they start arguing with one another.  Two get sent ‘home’.  They continue arguing all the way up the hill as someone asks the commanding officer if it was wise to send them back together given that both were fighting each other.  I am watching out the window, and see them fighting again.  I run out to them.  One of them’s hurt – in the head I think he got kicked, and is stunned.  He looks (and turns out to be) my line manager Pat.  He goes down, and I catch him.  Put him in the recovery position (while somehow still cradling him in my arms)  We are really close and I am holding him tight, and supporting his had, and he’s really really dazed and confused – it’s almost as if he’s dying, and I yell at those who followed to call an ambulance.  There’s a man there, and mum, and a little girl who in the dream I know as my sister.  She’s about ten.  The location has shifted when when I look up again – we are somewhere that looks like Greece, with bays that are warded off for boats.  The little girl races off to get one, as she knows where the doctor is, she returns empty handed and mum goes off with her – something about a short cut to get back – because the boats can’t enter the little bays where the beaches are.  All this time I am holding Pat, but he seems to be recovering now.  He rolls onto his back, and I tell him I like him, but (with real life in the fore of my mind – I do like him, but he’s engaged in real life) that he’ll probably fire me on Monday for saying that.  Then he tries to speak – basically saying he likes me but I am a bit too fat, but I understand and shush him.  Then help finally arrives and he is transferred to our villa.  He has a small outer hut to himself.  Mosh my landladies cat leads me there and starts chasing a mouse. He is recovering slowly and tells me it was a snake that bit him, on the hip and it pumped poison into him, hence being stunned and looking like he was dying.  Then a mouse comes out from under the rug that Mosh had gone under.  Pat catches it and chucks it away. He rubs his head.  It lands on my foot.  I screech and kick outside.  It lands on the table where we had a bit of a barbeque feast earlier.

There was also a dream fragment where I was in a book shop looking at the shelves – I think it was the sci fi-fantasy section, but I don’t remember much about that.

I had two dreams last night, the first was very Jurassic Park in flavour, the second, very…ordinary life in a past setting.

So, the first dream.

In this I am the girl who went to the park – Hammond’s granddaughter. I have my little brother around somewhere too, but I don’t actually ‘see’ him in the dream, though I do know he’s around, and I worry about him when the raptors are loose. So we get to the park, and go on a tour. We see a sick stegosaurus that is quickly healed by the vet, who then dives us back to the lodge. Whatever happens to cause the power to go, we are in the computer room when it does, so that we can get the stuff up and started, except that we don’t flip from the auxiliary power so that at some point the power goes completely, so our escape attempt fails. We are trapped in the lodge because the shutters to get out are closed, and only main power can get them up. We try to find another way out but keep getting picked off by the raptors. Then time shifts backwards to a point where we are eating in the cafeteria, which is a separate building to the lodge/control room. I remember all of us around a table eating a meal, the scientists and Hammond discussing stuff I am not interested in. I am also certain that at some point later on I want to go back there to get a strawberry before some of the other guests, who have only recently arrived, get them first. Then it shifts again, and the power has gone again. This time we switch the auxiliary to the main power grid so wherever the animals escaped to, they are trapped there. There are still raptors about, and they are still dangerous, but can’t barge in on us and slice us down where we stand. The lodge is a maze of corridors (not unlike hotel corridors), but we manage to make it outside and start trying to make out way to the kitchen/restaurant building. It’s at the bottom of a very steep hill with a very slippery section, and I seem to be at the front as I can find the least slippery bits. One of the group has a broken leg – it’s all bandaged and splinted anyway, so we make it to the restaurant, and gather food together so that we can make the hike to the safe area where we can get off the park/island. We are split into groups and the youngsters – there are three of us are also split up between the groups. I end up in a group with David Fiddaman (a guy I know from work) in a big orange waterproof jacket, another woman and a couple of others. I woke up form this dream to find it was only 2am. I was most disappointed. I’ve not been sleeping well recently – waking up a lot in the night, or sleeping the whole night, but not deeply. I suspect it’s the central heating thing.

In the second dream I had, there are two guys competing to make a cake for their boss. One cake is all Lambington like – with the coconut sprinkles all over the exterior but this cake fails miserably in the oven as it expands and gets pushed backwards off the back of the wire rack. It ends up spread across the back of the oven. The other cake comes out perfectly as it doesn’t expands too much. The dream shifts a bit and the failed cake is pulled from the back of the oven relatively intact….and for some reason already iced and covered in thick whipped cream, which has smeared all over a cardboard round. So I pull it out, and suddenly we are in my kitchen – when I lived in St Davids Rd in Wales, and Gareth, Biff and Pat from work are there. They try the cake which is suddenly a pineapple upside down one or another one (I distinctly remember Pat saying he didn’t want the upside down pineapple one I pulled from the oven) and then I woke up.

Ok, last night’s dream was somewhat random. I was a kangaroo, chasing an otter around the countryside and over a large lake. I get captured and taken to a village that is being rent with civil strife. There are a LOT of kids (which is probably related to me reading Witch & Wizard by James Patterson). Only the houses are all grass huts rather than modern houses. Anyway, there are a lot of injured. I apparently turn into some kind of doctor or nurse at some point in the dream as I am no longer a kangaroo. I heal the injured and they recover quite well. There is a mother figure in the dream, but it’s a bit fuzzy from this point. I do remember that there is one child with the mother figure. A small blonde boy of about two or three. He ends up having a massive fit. There is another doctor around and he comes rushing up. He suggests we take the boy to the hospital. We have to queue to get in and that’s all I remember.

I had two dreams last night, possibly related to one another – two parts of the same dream, possibly not…

In the first I am doing some kind of covert operation. I am with a tall dark haired man and we are following someone. Not sure whether it was a criminal or an evil genius or what but he isn’t a good guy. Something happens, possibly a shoot out on the roof of a building – not entirely sure – and the man is badly injured. I think we were in the process of stopping whoever it was we were tailing. I certainly remember someone falling off the top of a roof. The dream shifts then and we are in an elevator. It’s going down, and my partner is being supported by me. We come out of the elevator (very chunky and block like) to lots of people. I must have called them for help because I /know/ that they are part of the same operation we were working on. I have the man who is my partner’s arm round my shoulder and am trying to half drag half walk him out of the elevator to get him medical help. He has a lot of blood at his temple and dripping from his hair and is very pale. He’s also really heavy. Then the medical team rush in and take over. He is lifted from me and put onto a stretcher. Next thing I see is the boss man who is older, with salt and pepper hair and a refined sort of face saying reassuring things as the medics prepare to put the injured man into some kind of stasis or medical chamber to help him. The boss is reassuring both of us I think and then the dream shifted.

In the second part of the dream I am driving a car and there are two kids with me. We go to a beach over some wooded hills. It’s a nice sandy beach, not unlike Freshwater East in Wales and in front of me there are rocks and rock pools in which the kids are playing. To the west is the mouth of a river that is very estuary/delta like, only much smaller and I am sure it’s supposed to be the mouth of a river coming out of Milford haven. I know I thought it was normal but it definitely didn’t belong if the beach was Freshwater…oh the joys of dreams creating and melding familiar landscapes into something entirely new! The river there comes out on the other side of the beach and is only tiny. Anyway. The kids are over buy the rock pools hunting for shells and small living things and I join them. One of the kids looked a lot like my 5 year old niece Tyler. We explore the pools and then I dig up a shell. I ‘know’ it’s a fossil, even though it is semi transparent and pearlescent on one side like a normal thin shell on one side, it is thick and chunky and fossil like on the other – dark and basalt like. The transparent side looks more shell like. It is clam shaped – the flat ones with the pretty fan. We use it to scoop through the water possibly paddling. Then we head back to the car and we go driving over the hills past trees and onto a bumpy track. Then the dream faded.

I dreamt about horses last night, and one in particular. It was similar to the black stallion in the short film. It was wild, free and lovely, and then got caught. Another man wanted the horse (possibly he had lost it). I am the one who has caught him. I tame him. There is intense hatred from the other man when I catch the horse. The horse is friendly with me. When I get close up he has long matted hair and is not in good condition – tucked up and ribs showing (though he isn’t gaunt and starved) to begin with. I take him home and care for him, starting with food and a good thorough grooming.

Things start to happen at the stables – we know it’s the guy who wants the horse I am caring for but we can’t prove it. We go to a horse show with some other horses who are ready to show (the stallion is still not fully tamed or rideable though he is much healthier and his long hair is silky, shiny wavy black. The horse turns up at the show on a single-decker bus. He isn’t tied to anything, though he does have a halter on and a short part of a lead rope that has frayed at the chin. He has just turned up and we are all shocked – the bus drives right into the show ground with him in at the door waiting to get out! We left him at the stables I think and somehow he has gotten out, caught a bus, and come to the horse show. There is much amusement from us, even more anger from the other men. I take the horse and walk him around to calm him. Then we go home.

Not too surprisingly, given the horse who has been securely left has turned up at a show, the stables have been attacked. It’s nasty. Six horses are dead, two blinded (stabbed in the eyes) that have to be put down and another that is blinded in another way (she is a very placid mare who takes to being blinded quite well) she makes a good friendship with one of the stable’s cats, which becomes her ‘seeing cat’ to see for her. They become inseparable. Other horses are going crazy, some been hamstrung. We know it was this man. Some lucky horses and most of the youngsters (not being fully tame yet) raced away from the attacker/s thus escaping torture. We have to kill many of the horses that have been injured beyond saving, or injured in such a way as to make them useless. Some time later my ‘father’ takes the stallion colt, and takes him to another show. They go on the same bus the colt had been on to go to the first show – it’s become a regular thing and the locals are now used to a horse catching the bus if the quips and jokes I remember being passed around (though not the wording) are anything to go by. They pass a bull in the road. Not sure why this is significant, but I know it is. He enters the show, wins, and then the police arrest the horse torturer through a single piece of evidence they have found in their exhaustive search. Not a happy dream, but a dream, and reasonably vivid. I am also fairly certain that some bits have leached from my reading ‘The Carradyne Touch/The Lady’ by Anne McCaffrey and reading about a cat that regularly caught the bus to visit places (ETA sadly heard that the bus riding kitty got run over – but his life is being turned into a story so bus kitty lives on!)
